Technician Spotlight Guidelines

Purpose 

The purpose of the technician spotlight is to provide our staff with insight to the type of work that is completed by our technicians and how the solution was reached. This should be a time the technician is able to show off work they were proud of and/or found unique and interesting. 


Target Time : 5 minutes


What should the technician look for? The technician should look for work that will feature a high level of Refined Quality, the solution is out of the box or a strong reinforcement of the fundamentals to their industry, and/or how they were able to identify other issues with the opening. 


What should the presentation include?

  1. Pictures If possible, include both before and after pictures in the comment sections of the Agenda. Pictures should show the problem area(s) and the full opening or subject.

  2. Adding pictures to the Agenda Photos will need to be in JPG form. To change this navigate to Settings > Camera > Formats > Select Most Compatible. 

  3. Open the Agenda when the link is available on Tuesday.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap on Write a Comment

  5. Click on the + button.

  6. Click on the Image button.

  7. Choose Photo Library.

  8. Select the photo you would like to post. 

  9. Repeat steps for additional photos.

  10. Three things needed for success

  11. How did we/you provide a fast response? Touch on what factors lead to you being able to provide a fast response to the customer.

  12. How did we/you provide helpful and kind communication? Touch on how you communicated with the customer in a way that allowed the customer to make an informed decision and be confident in your ability to solve their problem.  

  13. How did we/you solve the customer’s problem? Speak on how you diagnosed the problem, why you chose the solution, and how you implemented the solution.


What if I cannot make it to my scheduled Tech Spotlight?

Let either your Supervisor, Training Director, or Operations Manager know as soon as possible. Your spotlight will be swapped with another technician.


What if the meeting is cancelled?

Your tech spotlight will be cancelled and it will not be rescheduled, or you may swap with another technician. If you swap with a technician, please let your Supervisor, Training Director, or Operations Manager know that you have swapped your previously schedule tech spotlight with a technician and who that technician is.


How will I know I have the tech spotlight?

Announcements for the tech spotlight will be made on the Monday Morning All Team Weekly call by the Training Director.
