Process Name: Adding Modem to assist list and adding to a Site visit for rental


Process Description: Adding new modems and renting out modems


Circumstances: Adding new modems and renting out modems


Process to add new modem:

Step 1: Click on Search Assets - Electronics under shortcut Panel

Step 2: Click on the + in the top right corner

Step 3: Fill in the New asset page

1- Category select: Mobile Modem

2- Description: NetGear Modem

3- Barcode: Scan new asset sticker

4- Value: $150.00

5- Enter phone number assigned to modem

6- Usual Location: Van number or customer facility name

7- Full Image: Take photo of top of modem

8- Serial Number/Model Number Image: Take photo of the back of modem where modem information is

9- Current Location: If the modem is assigned to a van then no photo is needed. If the modem is to be sold and installed to a customer then a photo is to be added once install is completed.

10- Click save the modem is now added.


Process for renting modem to customer:

Drop Off

  1. Start a new site visit. Include the facility, customer and contact information.

  2. For trip charge select Setup & Removal- Cellular Router. This creates a trip charge that will cover picking up the modem once services are complete.

  3. Create a new task under Cellular Modem -Drop off.

  4. This will add a new drop down under the create task.

  5. Select the asset sticker number from the drop down that matches the modem that you will be leaving onsite.

  6. Select the services check box on the task and type in Weekly Cellular Router Charge. This will add the charge of $50 to the task for a one week rental on the site visit.

  7. Create a new task under Cellular Modem - Pickup.

  8. Take photos under the images tap of the site visit of where the modem is located, and label photos as modem drop off.

  9. Change the date of the site visit to one week in the future of your current time.

  10. In one week when the site visit appears back on your daily task call, and email the contact to see if the modem is needed for more time or if it can be picked up.

    1. If a modem can be picked up, get with project management for scheduling a tech to go onsite for modem pick up.

    2. If a modem is needed onsite for another week then add another charge to the line item under the cellular modem drop off task to add another $50 charge to the SV. Change the date of the site visit again for another week in the future, and repeat this step until the modem is ready to be picked up.

Pick Up

  1. Once the tech is onsite to pick up the modem complete the Cellular Modem - Drop Off task on the site visit.

  2. Go to the Cellular Modem - Pickup task and add the asset sticker number to the cellular modem drop down selector.

  3. Complete the task

  4. Go to images and take new photos of the condition of the modem to ensure the modem has no damage. Label the photos as modem pick up.

  5. The site visit is completed.


Process for temporary leaving modem on site:

  1. Start a new site visit. Include the facility, customer and contact information.

  2. For trip charge select No Charge for the site visit trip charge.

  3. Create a new task under Cellular Modem -Drop off.

  4. This will add a new drop down under the create task.

  5. Select the asset sticker number from the drop down that matches the modem that you will be leaving onsite.

  6. Create a new task under Cellular Modem - Pickup.

  7. Take photos under the images tap of the site visit of where the modem is located, and label photos as modem drop off.

  8. Change the date of the site visit to one week in the future of your current time.

  9. In one week when the site visit appears back on your daily task call, and email the contact to see if the modem is needed for more time or if it can be picked up.

    1. If a modem can be picked up, get with project management for scheduling a tech to go onsite for modem pick up.

    2. If a modem is needed onsite for another week then change the date of the site visit again for another week in the future, and repeat this step until the modem is ready to be picked up.

  10. Once the tech is onsite to pick up the modem complete the Cellular Modem - Drop Off task on the site visit.

  11. Go to the Cellular Modem - Pickup task and add the asset sticker number to the cellular modem drop down selector.

  12. Complete the task

  13. Go to images and take new photos of the condition of the modem to ensure the modem has no damage. Label the photos as modem pick up.

  14. The site visit is completed.
