Wednesday, March 31st Team Meeting
One Positive Thing Recap:
a lot of people mowed their lawn over the weekend
a lot of people went hiking
y'all don't know what a succulent is
Shout-Outs:
Sergey got called out for a late security call and noticed that the customer had "do not duplicate" on their keys, so he set up a meeting to explain protected key systems to them
Brandon encountered a weird electronic mortise lock and tried to service it for half an hour, then called Thomas to work through figuring it out
Remember:
prioritize helpful and kind communication with customers and amongst ourselves
concentrate on keeping up a quick response time
Habit Tracking Round Two:
for the second quarter, pick a habit directly related to the business
reach out to your accountability buddy tomorrow (today, sorry) April 1st
we'll pick a new habit and new buddies in June for the third quarter
March 5S Madness Recap
the results of the projects have more than exceeded Thomas's expectations
we basically remodeled four areas in the office in one month
shout-out to the team leaders, who were selected to lead by a vote of their peers
many times people were helping each other even across teams, which also deserves recognition

Team "Electronics Storage":
Leader: Jonathan
Teammates: Sergey, Roman, Levi, Genadiy, Derek, Craig, Christopher B., Andrew M.
Highlights:

once all the training, locksmith, and door stuff got moved to where it belonged, it became clear the electronics storage area had been a catch-all space for the entire company, not just Access
removed dusty shelves that were being used as a catch-all
Team "Door Storage":
Leader: Dan
Teammates: Zach, Vladimir, Scotty, Sam, Mike, Leonard, Jessica B., Dylan
Highlights:
challenged by figuring out how to park the forklift in a way that it wasn't in the way
parking the forklift further from the doors will save time in the future because the doors will be accessible
labeled the doors and set up a quarterly audit of the area
How Will We Sustain This?
as soon as something gets moved from a labeled area, the uncovered label and empty space are clear indicators that it's missing and should be returned
reviewing the clearly-outlined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
And the winner is...
Congratulations to the Lockshop Team!
Because their hard work will save us time, they'll be getting a reward of time - four extra hours of PTO!
What Set the Winning Team Apart?
excellent design, great before and after pictures, and well-designed SOPs
others saw firsthand how much work went into it, and how they worked with other areas to make sure everything was labeled correctly and sorted in a logical and effective way
So... how can you apply the procedures you learned during this project to other areas in your home and workspace?
