2020 Christmas Party Prep
Since we do a lot of virtual meetings, it felt important for the meeting on Saturday to be different. This is why Loc-Doc has come up with a metaphorical "solving the puzzle" theme for the 2020 Christmas Party.
White it's disappointing to be unable to throw the usual Christmas party for the sake of the new team members we gained this year who haven't experienced the Christmas party the normal way, we hope the festivities this weekend will hold them over until it's safe to gather again.
Before Saturday, you should:
read through the Christmas Party guidelines here
confirm that you have use a computer, laptop, or tablet equipped with a working webcam
try to avoid logging in from a cell phone, since you won't be able to see the whole party at once on a small screen
preview your virtual setup
make sure you're well-lit
your face should be illuminated
don't turn your camera toward a window
virtual backgrounds are okay
collect your Party Bag from the office when the message goes out that they're ready
review your Charades Prompt Card with everyone in your household who will be tuning in
decide what extravagant lunch to order for you and your family with the Visa gift card
When you log in on Saturday at noon:
use the Zoom link button provided on the Christmas Party page
be dressed sharp from the waist up
treat it like the normal Christmas party!
alcohol wouldn't be provided at the normal party, so if you decide to have some on hand try not to flaunt it or let it impact your participation - this is a family-friendly event!
instead of just being "you plus one", you'll be free to have your whole family* attend the party with you virtually
have your fancy lunch with you
be ready to be called on
*if any part of your family is composed of cats, Chad will not be happy to see them
