Wednesday, February 17th Team Meeting

What do you know about your colleagues at Loc-Doc?

The Game:

While sharing our One Positive Thing in reverse alphabetical order, each person chose a number from one to one hundred (except Aaron Beaver, whose "nonbinary" choice was allowed as punishment). Choosing a number that had already been selected was a sign they weren't engaged in the meeting!

Then, in the order of the number they picked from lowest to highest, each person shared a fact about one other person at Loc-Doc without repeating a name that had already been used.

1. Andrew I. shared that Erin is fluent in French.

2. Derek shared the name of the church Chad used to attend, and then upped the stakes by adding that Chad once got shot in the back of the throat with a paintball.

3. Zach shared that Jordan's brother also works at Loc-Doc.

5. Chris shared that he and Michael C. always say "shalom" to each other when they cross paths.

7. Jordan shared that William has lots of ferrets.

9. Genadiy shared that Isaiah likes Chick-fil-A sauce on pasta.

13. Vladimir shared that Sergey takes Loc-Doc more seriously than anyone but Chad.

14. Dan shared that Aaron's EU evaluation results were way off!

15. Thomas shared that Scotty played baseball throughout his childhood and youth.

16. Sergey shared that Jon's favorite dish is stovetop spaghetti.

17. Nathan shared that Leonard once broke a running record. (Nathan clarified that it was actually multiple records!)

21. Chad shared that Joe retired from Owens Corning on May 1, 2000.

23. Leonard shared that Vladimir would rather spend time outside than indoors

27. Eric B. shared that Andrew M.'s stepdad is a NASCAR truck series chief (feel free to correct me on this, these words in this order make no sense to me so I may have misheard).

29. Scotty shared that Derek played offensive (he was corrected to "defensive") line at Mooresville High School.

30. Adam shared that Thomas ordered a Peloton that took forever to ship.

34. Craig shared that Josh (despite his angelic reputation) used to bully him when they were kids.

42. William shared that Lucas has a contentious history with Sirius XM satellite radio.

48. Nan is a newer member of the team who, being down at the Anderson office, hasn't had much opportunity to get to know the rest of the group. However, she was able to share that Sam is has a good sense of humor and always laughs at her jokes.

50. Roman shared that Craig owns an Indian motorcycle with bad batteries.

51. Sam shared that Kevan has a very impressive collection of spices in his pantry.

52. Mike shared that Jessica L. has an awesome singing voice.

54. Andrew M. shared that Eric B. is a race car driver.

57. McDouglas shared that Jessica B. was a pastor's kid.

62. Jessica B. shared that McDouglas knows so much about coffee because he used to work at Starbucks.

66. Joe shared that Nan is extremely kind, and she also has a green thumb.

68. Dylan shared that Roman has the same middle name as his father.

69. Eric S. shared that Dylan likes to let his steak sit in the sun.

70. Levi shared that Andrew I. has been trying to read through the American classics.

71. Kevan shared that Eric S. has a storm trooper costume (Eric S. corrected him that it is actually a clone trooper costume).

76. Jon shared that Genadiy is going to school for programming.

77. Michael went through a list of several people he wanted to share something about, but all of them had unfortunately been taken, so he had to be moved to the back of the list.

81. Jessica L. shared that Nathan used to work in catering with her sister.

88. Isaiah couldn't think of anyone who hadn't already been named, and was sent to the end of the line with Michael C.

89. Erin had run out of ideas early on, but shared that according to the GPS records she manages in TrackVia, Mike Tyler drives his company van to church. (This was later corrected by Mike that it's one of his sons that does this!)

93. Brandon shared that Dan doesn't like coffee, though he expects working at Loc-Doc will change his mind.

99. Josh shared that Adam is trying to wake up earlier in the mornings and doing really well so far.

100. Lucas shared that Chris L. once told him that his whole paycheck goes to Whole Foods.

1,111,111,111. Aaron shared that Levi has a literal soap box in his office in case he needs to make a passionate speech about something.

The Lesson:

Think about how you learned this information about this person. Would it be hard or easy to have a conflict with this person given that you know more about them than just an acquaintance?

If you know the person you have a conflict with, you have a better chance of working through it together. So get to know the people you work with every day! When we get busy, when it gets tough, having a personal relationship with the your teammates person is what will get you through the harder times.
